The Ministry carries out functions in the field of civil protection related to Disaster Management and Emergency Response against natural and man-made emergencies, the provision of emergency medical and psychological assistance to the population, fire safety and civil defense organization of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Ministry is tasked with formation and implementation of state policy in the field of civil protection, as well as the implementation of intersectoral coordination in this area. It (former Committee) was consulted on the development of the project.

Member of the Project Steering Committee. Focal Point on Disaster Risk Reduction activities in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
